Preparation & Assessment

 

Why not spend the morning prior to your Diver Coxn Assessment with one of our Instructors / Assessors brushing up on your boat handling skills.

All preparation will be completed on the same boat used for you Diver Cox'n Assessment.

The aim of the Diver Coxn assessment is to assess a candidates practical boat handling skills, and the underpinning knowledge related to the general handling of small boats and to diving specific boat handling activities.

(Holders of the Diver Cox'n certificate are able to apply to BSAC for their International Certificate of Competence.)

Entry Requirement The CDA Diver Cox’n Assessment is open to any BSAC member over the age of 16.
Assumed knowledge
  • Have completed the BSAC Boat Handling Course, or equivalent and have accumulated at least 5 hours boat handling experience since completing the course
  • Have at least 20 hours substantiated/logged boat handling experience.
Ability After Course BSAC Course Certification will be issued, but should not be regarded as a certificate of competence.
